Hugskotið is an institution under the authority of Tórshavn Municipality. Hugskotið processes personal data about you in order to carry out administrative tasks in conjunction with events, requests for advice or applications for residency. Hugskotið only collects any data that is strictly necessary to adequately process your registration for events or requests for advice or residency application, and in order to honour the agreement entered with you on registration.
How we collect your data
When you register using Hugskotið’s system you submit the personal data we need in order to provide you with correct and adequate service.
We pass on the following information to event speakers
The speaker at the event you registered for needs to use specific personal data from you to prepare the event. This usually means your name and e-mail. The speaker at the event is bound in writing to delete your personal data, when the purpose of using the data has been completed. The speaker will be notified of this in the e-mail in which the list of event participants is forwarded to them.
How long we store your personal data
Hugskotið only collects necessary personal data, and retains this data until the specific purpose of processing the data is met. The duration of data retention can vary. In certain cases data must be stored in order to document our administrative work.
In case of data that is part of a case file, this will be stored in Tórshavn Municipality’s filing system, and transferred to the National Archive, pursuant to a data transfer agreement, and in compliance with the Act on Archives (Lóg um skjalasøvn).
Any documents that must be stored as accounting documents will be retained in compliance with the provisions in the Accountancy Act (Bókhaldslógin).
Event speakers will in the e-mail they are sent with the list of students also be notified that they must delete any of your personal data that they handle, when the specific purpose of processing your data has been completed.
